Situated on the N2, approximately 240km from both Cape Town and George, Swellendam is the perfect choice for a halfway stopover or as a base from which to explore the area.

A great optional extra which you may want to include is one of the greatest Swellendam hits - a boat cruise on the Buffeljachts Dam, at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains, on a fully kitted-out double-decker wooden raft. Sit and enjoy the magical scenery, take a swim, paddle an inflatable 'croc' up a twisting rocky gorge or try your hand at bass fishing. Then light the fire, watch the sun go down and look for shooting stars. Whether you want to party the night away or quietly immerse yourself in the beauty of nature, this is the place to be. A braai can be prepared on deck and a full catered service is optional.
